so whats new?

So what’s new? Home remodeling that’s what! This weekend I am finishing the last 5’ of my hallway pinstriping. It’s the part above the stairs and I’ve been wary of doing it, since I don’t want to fall off my latter anytime soon. So yup I’m finishing up that. On Monday I will be traveling to one of my local Home Depot’s and purchasing 15 12x12 tiles and the accompanying grout to do my backslpash in my kitchen. I’m SO EXCITED! I’m getting my initial tile tonight to make sure it all matches. Then I will be purchasing a new fan, and over head light to, to match and another new over head light for our eating space. Why, because our current ones are “white country kitchen” and we’re MODERN! I’m very happy and excited about this. After the lights & fans I am getting my new microwave & stove, then hopefully my breakfast nook will have been sold and I will be purchasing two counter top square tables and a bar table for our eatery, with the accompanying wall decorations. I’m really happy, then my kitchen will be complete. I’m debating about painting it another color, I might, and it would just be the trim in the kitchen as I am not sure if I want to paint the eatery. I’m not sure on that point. The next thing I’m talking is the upstairs master bedroom. I am picking out some new curtains, valances, and curtain rods. Then I am going to repaint the downstairs hallway, same color as it already it, since it is a dark area with a light color and we need the light color to add some brightness down there. (There are no over head lights in my downstairs so I chose an off white/light tan for a color to add some brightness. It was all Mauve before and horribly dark) Then I will get new wooden railing for the up and downstairs, a wooden chandelier for the entry way to replace the fan, that is not needed there anymore. We added a new screen door, which wasn’t there before, so now we don’t need the fan to circulate air. After all that I will paint the bathroom a new color, and the laundry room stark white. Hopefully I will have money to tile the downstairs hallways, laundry room, and the foyer and once our tenant is out we will do the downstairs bathroom, wood flooring, walls, man cave office and other interesting things for the downstairs living area. Hopefully someday I will get to the upstairs bathroom. I just need to tile, repaint, and reaccesorize it. I’m just very excited that all of my plans are coming together. It has been a long time coming.

What else…this weekend is BREWFEST in Syracuse. It’s our 7th year going with our friends from college and is one of my favorite winter traditions, besides building snowmen, and the deer dinner.

I have begun the process to get ready to have kids. I.e. finish all the house renovations so we can relax love it and sell it in 7 years, get my blood work done to make sure Im healthy and carry no scary traits, and talk with the hubs to see where he stands. Right now we’re go for launch. Haha. But we’re both really looking forward to being parents and have been slowly growing up and settling into our lives. As I’m in “house decorating mode” as he puts it, I’m nesting I guess. I have no idea what that means. But with in 5 years of having a kid we would need a bigger house, and I need to finish my “remodeling” to make the house from old country to modern living to sell it quick. When we bought it, it was badly styled, and old looking and not “hip”. Haha. So I need to finish that and I’m kinda cheaping out, nothing needs to be top of the line anymore and I know that. It gets worn down and since Mr. D is letting me do all of the decorating, it’s my say.  Hence this is why when we sell we’re probably going to build a house.

Until next time, probably after brew fest, the fairport canal hockey match, which is held at our favorite local bar, and after more blood work as I now have a vitamin D deficiency which is probably caused by my thyroid.
